Water Baptism

Water Baptism

By Pastor Jaco Mostert 23 July 2021

To be baptized with water takes a person who believes the need for it according to the New Testament as the Jewish people believes in the circumcision of the baby to be saved. It is not christening. To be baptized is to die to sin and be raised in Christ Jesus. No man can enter the Kingdom of God without being baptized by water and the Spirit. Water baptism represents our faith in needing to die to ourselves and live in Christ. It starts with believing, repenting, and then getting baptized. Romans 6: 6 – 7 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. - By baptism, we die to sin. If you haven t been baptized, you haven’t died yet and therefor are still alive in sin. Not alive in Christ. Galatians 3: 27 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ [into a spiritual union with the Christ, the Anointed] have clothed yourselves with Christ [that is, you have taken on His characteristics and values].
