Revival

Revival

By Pastor Jaco Mostert 22 July 2021

Psalm 78: 41  Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. The Israelite’ turned their back on God, in this way the limited God to bless them as He desired to. It’s important to realize that we can really limit God when we’re not fully submitted to His will and ways. God will always leave the choices with us. Are we going to pray or not?Are we going to take authority over the things in our life or not? There are many spiritually lame people walking around, and God wants to revive them. God wants to fill people with His fire where He also then takes away the old and gives the new. He wants to restore us back to life. Jesus said to the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the fire of the Holy Spirit. He didn’t want them to go into the world without that dynamite power. (Acts 1) No Christian can truly be a effective Christian without the fire of the Holy Spirit. We have to receive this supernatural power from God. It includes walking in signs and wonders, operating in the gifts of the Spirit, speaking in tongues. It makes us valid. The Holy Spirit validates us. Isaiah 4: 4 . The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit[a] of judgment and a spirit[b] of fire.  The Word calls the Holy Spirit the Spirit of fire. When we gather in expectation of a revival, we expect the Spirit to come with His fire. We should keep in mind that there are 2 fires. A Fire that can hurt us, it is known as the trouble times we face. Secondly the fire of the Spirit. It is our choice which fire we will be burned with more. Either way there is going to be a fire. It is wise to ask the Lord for His fire, and for Him to burn away everything in us which is not from Him. Matthew 25: 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ This oil is the Holy Spirit, and the power of God which is the Light in us. Let us not be foolish also and allow our oil to run empty because the day will come where Jesus will return, or even the day will come where it’s our last day, then we should be filled with this oil, the Holy Spirit.
