Intersession in the church

Intersession in the church

By Pastor Jaco Mostert 22 July 2021

If you look at everything that’s going on in the world today, it is clear that there is an Antichrist agenda being pushed, and a fight for legal right from the devil. The more legal right the people give him, the more land he will possess. Our fight is for land. So that the will of God will prevail in our lands. The Lord is asking who will stand in the gap for the land? Who will intercede? We have been given authority in Jesus, we have a responsibility to use that and to release His power in our lives more often than we think. Ezekiel 22: 30 “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.  Are we saying “Lord, here I am! I’ll stand in the gap?” Galatians 5: 16  But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the [g]sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts].  If you stay in the Spirit, the flesh part of you will not be able to control you. You have to choose your habit. Are you going to walk habitually in the Spirit or in the flesh? There is no in between. Make a habit of living in the Spirit! Use every opportunity to pray in the Spirit. Matthew 7: 7 - 8 “[c]Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.  Understand that the word “asking” in Greek means “putting a demand on something due”. We should put a demand on all that is due to us in Jesus Christ. The Word says we should keep on doing that! Keep on putting a demand on what is due to you. Asking and also only asking once is not what we need to do in order to get the results in our life which God desire to give us. By keeping on, or faith is being released constantly. It then also grows. Your faith will become greater in this process. Keep in mind that the first thing we should always be seeking is His Kingdom and Righteousness. Ephesians 3: 20 Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, Note that this scripture says this power of God is within us. Within. There for it must also be released from within us, out into the spiritual realm where everything takes place. We are in a partnership with God, releasing His power through us over our situation. It takes a different amount of faith and power for different situations. Praying for a city will take a different amount of “keep asking”. But we can not not release the power that is within us. We need to release it more often than we think.
