The Power of Humbleness v2

Humbleness is powerful because it gets you into the presence of God. Pride keeps you from the presence of God which is what we are looking for.  If the presence of God is with you, then you are blessed. Because when God is with you, then it goes well with you. If He is not with you, then you have a problem.

Pride is a blessing blocker.

Many times, we face a season where things don’t go our way for a while, so that we can get to the level where we’re supposed to be. God will allow things to happen in your life, to get you in a place where He can use you.

Humbleness will cause you to be successful, because God will get the glory, He is on the throne in your life.

a Humble person does the following:

-        Gives glory to God.

-        Is easily corrected

-        They are sorry for what they’ve done wrong

-        They are quick to listen; slow to speak.

-        They know without God they are nothing

-        They know they need God so much

-        They are teachable

We submit a lot easier when we are humble. We then know God in everything we do and not rely on our own understanding.

Matthew 18: 1 – 5

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Humbleness is how God ranks us.

The least, is the greatest.

This is not the world’ point of view.

Isaiah 14: 11 – 14

Your pomp and magnificence have been brought down to Sheol,
Along with the music of your harps;
The maggots [which prey on the dead] are spread out under you [as a bed]
And worms are your covering [Babylonian rulers].’
12 “How you have fallen from heaven,

b]">[b]star of the morning [light-bringer], son of the dawn!
You have been cut down to the ground,
You who have weakened the nations [king of Babylon]!
13
“But you said in your heart,
I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God;
I will sit on the mount of assembly
In the remote parts of the north.
14
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
15

“Pomp” means Pride.

Pride is a heart -thing. It’s how you put up your nose and how you shake your head, how you behave. It’s your character.

The devil said all the “I” in his heart.

a Spirit of “I” is a spirit of satan.
