Am I Ready For The Rapture

Am I Ready For The Rapture

By Pastor Jaco Mostert 2 June 2021

Don’t try to be ready before you get saved – come as you are and accept God’s love. Do it by faith!

This message is for the church of Christ regarding the rapture. Let us tick off the test kit points which shows if we are ready or not.

Bible prophecy is to prepare you, not scare you. But if you are scared, you’re not prepared.

SCRIPTURE REGARDING THE RAPTURE

There have been 3 raptures already recorded in the Bible:

The 1st rapture was with Enoch in Genesis 5:24 “ Enoch walked faithfully with God and then he was no more.”

The 2nd rapture :

2 Kings 2:11 “ As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.”

Jesus was the 3rd person to be raptured.

Acts 1: 9 “After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight.”

Luke 17:24 “For the Son of Man in his day[ ] will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.”

The next rapture is going to be like a flash of lightning

Luke 17:2 – 28

But first, he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting, and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

We can see here that when Jesus comes back, that life will be normal, and like in the days of Noah. It will not be expected.

The rapture will take place before the mark of the beast because the mark of the beast will prevent you from buying and selling without the mark. But the day of the rapture His people will be busy buying and selling like in the days of Lot. (Read Luke 17:28 again)

TEST KIT:

Don’t look back like Lot’s wife did! God warned Lot and his wife to turn back and is giving us the same warning today. Be loose from the world or miss the rapture. (Luke 17:33 “Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.”)

Is your life pure? Do you live a sinful life?

Through our hands, miracles can happen by the grace of God, but we can still miss the rapture. (Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”)

Revelations 2 - 3 clearly shows us how Jesus will judge us:

You have forsaken the love you had at firstConsider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.

You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching, she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.

I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God.

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

The church must check themselves and make sure that Jesus stays our absolute first love, treat every day as the last day.

Hate what God hates, and love what God loves.
