In the world but not of this world Part 1

By Pastor Jaco Mostert 22 July 2021
In this world, we have to be dead to ourselves when it comes to the words and deeds of people that oppose us as we go through life focusing on what the Lord wants us to. People will always have opinions. Realize that God alone is our judge. We can't judge others, and if they judge us, God will fight our battles and He is our vindicator. The devil will try and divide and separate the church. We also live in a world where the people of this world don't have the same spirit that we do. It won't be easy for them to understand us, so they do what the world does to convince themselves that there isn't maybe a problem with them. John 17: 16 "They are not of the world, even as I am not of it." As Jesus knew at all times that He isn't part of this world and its system, so should we be aware of the same. Jesus knew His mission was to go to the cross, and we should know just like that that we have a cross that we will carry. Many times it will be the negative opinions of others. It is our responsibility to do what the Word says regardless of what the world does, therefor while we get judged by them, we will choose to believe the best of them. As the Word says, love believes the best of a person. Don't fight for who you think you're supposed to be or who others think you're supposed to be. Just rest in who God says you are. Note that people will be uneasy when Christians are successful. They would first question or criticize or even envy the successful Christian before they do that with someone of this world. That's what the devil does. Attacks Christians. Human nature is also a factor. Human nature wants to bring people down to their level. It's rare that the flesh would want to celebrate others. The Christian should just always remember that God says we are the head and not the tail. Psalm 41: 6 When one of them comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander; then he goes out and spreads it around. David was even hated without reason. But the Word says to pray for our enemies. Pray for them the things you would like for yourselves to have. Remember that when you get angry, the anger is inside of you, and causing you damage. The anger is worse than what made you angry. Psalm 69: 4 "Those who hate me without reason outnumber the hairs of my head; many are my enemies without cause, those who seek to destroy me. I am forced to restore what I did not steal." Romans 12: 18 "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Some people make it impossible to live in peace with them, but those are relationships at a distance. It doesn't mean you do harm to them. They simply just to gain that place of trust in your heart. Be content with what God has appointed you over. Understand that sometimes your "clean" will make other's feel guilty and they don't like that. We are blessed because of the God that is with us, not because of anything we did. Keep in mind that the Kingdom of God is under attack on earth, but the righteous should take it by force. John 16: 33 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” 1 Peter 4: 13 "But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed." If you share in His suffering, you will share in His Glory. Galatians 2: 20 "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me..."
