In the world but not of this world Part 2

In the world but not of this world Part 2

By Pastor Jaco Mostert 22 July 2021
To love God is to hate what God hates, and love what God loves. So you have to love what He loves. He hates when people sow discord between brethren. Discord meaning: No more unity. John 15: 18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” Remember when you go through hardships and persecutions because of your faith that Jesus was hated first. Most times slanderers and gossipers' issues come from their self-image issues. Gossip is always about someone else’s business. They will never put a light on themselves. Gossiping is a false spoken statement, damaging the person’s reputation. It can cause great loss. It also diminishes someone’s character. Matthew 12: 36   But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.  An idle word is a careless word. By our words, we will be justified or condemned. Proverbs 20: 19 A gossip betrays a confidence, so avoid anyone who talks too much. Gossip also reveals another person’s secrets. It’s better to mind your own business than to do others harm with the cares in their heart. James 1: 2 - 3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  When you face a season where you’re being gossiped and slandered, try and dig deep into the joy that Christ has placed within you. It is a trial of “any kind”, therefor consider it pure joy. God will reward your faithfulness as you face difficulties for the sake of your faith. 1 Peter 1: 6 - 7   In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 4: 12  Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange was happening to you. Fighting without results can seem discouraging, but God wants us to be content. Through everything, we die to ourselves. Keep in mind that the devil wants to distract you with what people are doing to you. Surrender it all to God, and continue to run your race faithfully. The road to vindicate yourself is harder than the road of trusting God.
