Realign Re-centre v1

Realign Re-centre v1

By Pastor Jaco Mostert 29 August 2022

As we are still starting off in 2022, we have to make sure that we are aligned and centered in the ways of God. We are going to work discuss some points to keep in mind and re align if it’s not in the right place yet. Double -mindedness: It’s to be “on the fence”. It’s when we are in with one foot on one side, and the other foot on the other side. You will spot this by listening to how you speak depending on who you are with. At some braai’s you’ll find yourself speaking a different thing than what the Bible is saying. You have to identify where you are not single minded as the Word is on matters. You have to make up your mind regarding what you believe. Double-mindedness makes you a target because you’re not sure of what you believe. You’re not sure on what side you are on. Denying yourself and following Jesus: Luke 9: 23 And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [[g]disown himself, [h]forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, [i]refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [[j]cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also]. This can sound harsh to some people, but let me remind you that the only way you will get to your life, the Life, fullness of joy, and life overflowing, is in Jesus. The enemy will tell you “No you wont get to where you want to be like that, by just giving everything to God, and you won’t enjoy life like that…..” Mean while the Truth is that the joy of the Lord is your strength, and it’s like a constant river flowing through you which makes you feel joyful. This is something you can ONLY find in Jesus. What does it mean to disown yourself? It’s letting go of your sinful nature; your passions that’s not lined up with God; etc. Your will is so important to God, that He won’t interfere if you want to choose differently. It’s so important to God that He won’t even interfere to the point of the gates of hell. Be strengthened by God: Hebrews 12: 12 – 13 So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. 13 Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong. We can also see it as “take a fresh grip”. Refresh yourself through the Holy Spirit and the Water of the Word. To come into the presence of God will refresh you and help you get a new grip; new strength; new hope. Hold on to God our Father; Hold on to your faith in Him; Don’t give up and turn away from Him – the Only One who can help you; Don’t worry, instead pray. Worry will change nothing, it’s just to meditate on what’s wrong. Meditate on the Word of God, day and night. Galatian 6: 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Do not give up, just start again. You don’t have to start as strong and fast as you were, but just start again, and you will see that you will find your strength again. I just want to say: Be careful for your emotions, which can seem like the true voice and guide. It will talk you out of things. You have emotions, but emotions shouldn’t have you. You are a spirit in a body with a soul. Your spirit must be ruling over the body and soul. There for you can choose to say to your soul/emotions “Bless the Lord!” like David did many times. Stand up and run to God, and enter His presence through thanksgiving and praise. He is closer than what you think, He is just a prayer a way. The reward will cause your joy to be full – Don’t give up. There is a reward in doing good, so I want to encourage you to reach out to people and walk in your purpose.
